Today ,SAARO successfully conducted a Community Awareness and Training on Animal Welfare in Baidoa, Southwest State of Somalia. The training brought together 30 participants, including livestock owners and community members, to strengthen their understanding of proper animal care and responsible livestock management practices.
The training focused on key principles of animal welfare, including animal health, proper nutrition, humane handling, and the importance of providing adequate shelter and protection for livestock. Participants also discussed common challenges affecting animal welfare in their communities and explored practical solutions to improve livestock care.
Through this initiative, #SAARO aims to promote humane treatment of animals and sustainable livestock practices, recognizing that healthy animals contribute directly to improved livelihoods and stronger community resilience. SAARO remains committed to continuing community awareness programs that support animal welfare and sustainable development across Somalia.
